On Sunday 15th March, we were proud to support the Huddersfield Irish Centre in delivering its annual St Patrick’s Day Parade celebration, a vibrant event that brings together the local community to celebrate Irish culture and heritage.
Like many public events, the parade has evolved over the years. Increasing costs associated with security, stewarding, traffic management and wider environmental considerations have required careful planning and partnership working to ensure the event can continue safely and successfully.
Despite these challenges, one constant has remained – our ongoing commitment to supporting the Irish Centre and helping deliver this event year after year.
Looking ahead, preparations are already underway for a significant milestone. Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of the St Patrick’s Day Parade, and we are currently working closely with the organisers to explore opportunities for a larger parade route while reviewing operational requirements and costs to ensure the event remains sustainable for years to come.
We look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with the Huddersfield Irish Centre and supporting what promises to be a special anniversary celebration.
