As Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca hits the news for their part in the latest Covid-19 vaccine, Doocey Traffic Mangement are proud to share an insight in to recent works carried out at this incredible new facility.

Our Cambridge division continues to thrive in this flourishing part of the country working on the AstraZeneka works which consisted of two separate jobs. Doocey Traffic Management delivered an appropriate scheme with teams setting up Traffic Management ready for both jobs:

Job 1 – New water source for the HQ fire main. The new connection taken off 280mm per main, was originally planned for a double squeeze off but due to the existing utilities present this did not fit. Instead a double line stop was planned and completed by our pipeline resilience team.

Job 2 – Installation of new fire hydrant on a 600mm main. Due to the depth of main a temporary works installation was required to dig a depth of 2.4m. The tight and restricted working area meant materials could not be stored on site. Traffic had to be controlled with additional Marshall’s while excavation works were ongoing. Once excavated the hydrant was installed utilising an underpressure tee.

Both works were a complete success.
